I am Paul Meltzer and I created Dollars & Uncommon Cent$ after noticing again and again how many people, business, legislatures, etc. can't seem to rein in their spending in a sensible way even though they seem to have the money to spend otherwise. I have worked in almost every corporate position and much of that was in bookkeeping, including being the CFO of a small start-up. I have learned a whole lot about fiscal responsibility. Not being cheap, or going without everything, but being responsible. I have created a method to set up an honest budget and I understand that a budget is a living thing that has to be flexible. I have learned to make savings part of my budget and know there are times when spending more now can mean saving more in the long term. I remain financially stable - not rich, but stable and have decided to help others work to achieve their financial goals on their own terms.
I don't fool myself or you into thinking I am some altruistic philanthropist (do nice big words make web sites seem more important?) I charge for my services and very little compared to the "professionals" who care about their pay more than anything. Face it, we are all in the business of making money - it's how we do it that matters. And, as the Faber College Motto states "knowledge is Good". Go ahead, look it up!
